Hello Hampton Roads, Eric with Doud Realty Services, Inc. Today we are going to talk about local schools and their rating systems. These ranks based on a 1-10 scale, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best.
Let’s start off with the elementary schools, E. W. Chittum comes in at a 7. Southwestern and Western Branch Intermediate both come in a 4. Middle Schools, Jolliff Middle and Western Branch Middle both come in at a 6. Western Branch High School comes in at 7.
Lets go over why these scores are important to in maintaining real estate values. The higher the scores the better the property values are going to be weather you have kids or not. The hire the score the more desirable the neighborhood is. If you look at some of the lesser desirable neighborhoods, it is a direct reflection of their school scores. It also coordinates with their property values.
